Who is Paw Paw?
I am 72 years old with 43 years working in the propane and natural gas industry. I have 2
daughters and a son (Carrie, Corbin, and Jack) who keep me in line.
I love being a Paw Paw to my 5 grandchildren. I go to their baseball games, school events, and
do anything they ask me to do.
In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, attending Church of the Highlands, and finding good places
to eat.
How did Paw Paw’s Cabin come about?
I fell in love with Bar Har and Acadia National Park while vacationing. I knew I wanted to
become a regular patron.
After retirement, I found myself with more time on my hands than I liked. So, I knew the time had
come!
I talked to the Lord and was led to buy a cabin that needed lots of love and attention. I joined
forces with my daughter (Carrie) and together we found the perfect team to renovate the cabin.
With lots of prayers, tears, and passion Paw Paw’s Cabin was ready for guests in July 2021.
What is your favorite thing to do when visiting the cabin?
I relax outside in the Adirondack chair watching the loons swim by right before sunset. I like to
listen to music and just take it all in.
Lobster roll or whoopie pie?
Lobster roll AND whoopie pie for dessert!
Where is your favorite place to eat when visiting the area?
Jordan’s in Bar Harbor is my go to. They have the best blueberry pancakes.
Favorite team?
I cheer for the Auburn Tigers! You will find orange and blue touches from the exterior paint
colors to the Bluetooth speaker indoors. I say I brought the “loveliest village on the plains” to the
great state of Maine! War Eagle!
Who is the team that keeps the cabin running?
I am forever grateful for the hard work and attention to detail that Affordable Lawn Care and
More gives the cabin. From the landscaping, snow plowing, running various errands, and
ensuring the cabin is ready for incoming guests, they get the job done! All in a professional
manner, too.
MD Carpentry, LLC took on the challenge of renovating the cabin when so many ran away. The
transformation was beyond what I could have ever imagined.
They continue to provide any maintenance that is needed, and are only a phone call away.
We couldn’t do it without our team in Maine!
What do you want any future guests to know about Paw Paw’s Cabin?
We want our guests to know that when they book a stay at the cabin, they will be treated like
family from the beginning. We want to answer any question and be accessible to guests to offer
a true Maine getaway.
In sharing our slice of Heaven with our guests, we hope they reconnect to the beauty of nature
and goodness of life.
